State Rep. Whitsett: "The president actually told me, verbatim, that yes, [Kwame Kilpatrick] is going to be part of the 3,000 that were going to be released."

DETROIT – State Rep., Karen Whitsett is reporting that Former Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, is expected to be released from prison Monday November 2.

The former Detroit Mayor has served seven years of his 28-year sentence for corruption and racketeering in office. He served as mayor of Detroit from 2001 to 2008. He was sentenced in 2013 and has since lost his appeals.
