Allendale -A group of Grand Valley students and two faculty members were in Nice, France, July 14, when more than 80 people were killed during a terror attack on the city during a Bastille Day celebration.

Everyone in the Grand Valley contingent is safe. The group of 18 students is traveling with French faculty members Dan Golembeski and Carol Wilson.

They are scheduled to return to the U.S. on July 31; the trip is focused on French language and culture.

The University Counseling Center arranged a session via Skype for the group on July 15 and will continue to offer counseling services to the group.
