Cruz was right not to endorse Trump

Donald Trump insulted Ted Cruz’s wife by sending out an unflattering photo of her over twitter. A twitter account that has millions of followers.

Trump also implied that Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Of course, in true Trump fashion he presented no evidence.

During last week’s GOP convention many party loyalists chided Cruz for not endorsing Trump during his convention speech. This is a problem with both political party’s. They want you to be loyal to every position the party takes or order they give, even if by doing so contradicts or goes against your principles.

Cruz to his credit refused to be as he stated “a servile puppy dog”. Love him or hate him, he stood up to his own Party machine and that’s commendable.

When I state Cruz was right not to endorse Trump I am not speaking from the vantage point of an anti-Trump, anti-GOP or pro-Democratic Party perspective. I am non of those things. I am speaking from the point of view of a man refusing to endorse someone who has cross the line of what is acceptable even in a hotly contested political race. Children, wives and non-combatant family members should be off-limits

You can’t insult a man’s wife and expect an endorsement. And you can’t insinuate that a man’s father may have had involvement in assassinating a beloved President and expect an endorsement. Some argue that all the candidates including Cruz pledge to endorse the nominee. However, in my humble opinion Trump voided out the pledge when he attacked the man’s family.

There is no way Trump(if the situation was reverse) would endorse Cruz or anyone else if they insulted his family. I think everyone knows this. Therefore, I commend Ted Cruz for not being a ‘serville puppy dog’ for the GOP.
