Muskegon – This weekend, Harbor Unitarian Universalist Congregation (HUUC) will host their annual historical reenactment tour series “City of the Dead” at Muskegon’s historic Evergreen Cemetery at 391 Irwin Ave.
“City of the Dead” is an educational immersive theater experience that retells the stories of some of Muskegon’s interesting past residents through researched scripts and period-accurate costumes set in a historic cemetery that dates to the 1860s. Prominent burials include Charles Hackley, “The Man with the Branded Hand” Captain Johnathan Walker and Muskegon’s first mayor Chauncey Davis, as well as a potter’s field.

This year’s program, “Immigrants: We Get The Job Done!” is about the immigrants that made Muskegon their new home and the contributions that they have made to the community.
The tours will happen Saturday Oct. 10 from 5 to 8 PM and Sunday Oct. 11 from 2 to 4 PM. Tickets are $5 per person with children 12 and under admitted for free.
