North Muskegon – On Thursday Oct. 8, area teens can learn about the history of photography at North Muskegon’s Muskegon Area District Library (MADL) branch’s Camera Obscura workshop.

This free educational experience will teach participants the basics of how cameras work while also giving them a chance to make their own camera obscura, a device that would eventually lead to the creation of modern cameras.

This event is part of the larger Big Read Lakeshore Initiative, an annual fall reading event that encourages community members to make literacy part of their daily lives.

This program will happen 3 to 4 PM at the North Muskegon branch library at 1522 Ruddiman Drive.
