Final Week to experience the art of animation at Muskegon Museum of Art’s “HerStory” exhibit

Muskegon County – This is the final week to see “HerStory of Animation: Mary Blair & Beyond” at the Muskegon Museum of Art on 296 W. Webster Ave. This inspiring exhibit tells the story of the women artists behind some of the most iconic animated films of the past century. The exhibit spans the entire history of the medium from early animated shorts to today’s cutting-edge CGI films, through artifacts such as production stills, animations cels and film clips. The artists and animators featured here include Mary Blair, Lillian Schwartz and Brenda Chapman, among others, as part of the museum’s commitment to showcasing the work of women and promoting diverse perspectives in the world of art. “HerStory of Animation” runs from June 6 to September 27. The Muskegon Museum of Art is open from 11 AM to 5 PM Tuesday to Sunday. Thursdays have extended hours lasting to 8 PM and are free general admission days, the museum is closed Mondays.
