Experience Classic Hollywood with The Damfinos

Muskegon – The International Buster Keaton Society, also known as The Damfinos, will kick off the 2026 International Buster Keaton Society Convention this Friday Oct. 2, concluding with a double feature presentation on Oct. 3 at the Frauenthal Center.

The double feature will screen two Buster Keaton films, Battling Butler and a newly restored version of The General, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

This special presentation will be accompanied with live music performed on the theater’s original Barton Organ by famous organist Dennis Scott. The screening will take place Saturday Oct. 3 from 7:30 – 8:45 (Battling Butler) and 9:00 – 10:15 (The General), with an intermission from 8:45 to 9:00.

Other events include a tour of the Bluffton neighborhood Friday between 3:15 and 6:15 PM, a Buster Trivia Competition hosted at the Muskegon Museum of Art Friday between 5:15 and 6:15 PM, and a Roaring 20s style Speakeasy themed party that will be held after the Saturday night double feature from 10 to midnight.

Tickets for the Saturday evening showing will be $18.50.
